Closed eye visualizations (also closed eye visuals) - visual experiences of a certain kind experienced when visual stimuli is greatly lessened or completely eliminated.
Float - As a noun, a period spent in the floatation tank. As a verb, the act of spending time in the tank.
John Cunningham Lilly (1915-2001) - Inventor of the isolation tank, a physician and psychologist whose studies covered a wide range from conventional to fringe sciences.
Restricted Environmental Stimulation Therapy Shortened: R.E.S.T. or REST - These are blanket terms for treatments and techniques that make use of floatation tanks. See our REST links at FloatResearch.
